The role of tv as a popular Mass educator has been well established. Its acceptance great, its reach phenomenon and its impact even wider but are we providing the right kind of programs for children? It is felt that channels private or government-owned prefer rerun or import programs whose dubbed versions are dished out because it saves production costs incentives unless for coming to an initiatives is lacking. The question was sought to be answered in a roundtable and children in television here in the capital this week organized by the center for media studies. Even though children constitute 40% of television viewership few quality software for children appear on the tube. Few are still indigenously produce.
