Karnataka is one of the mineral rich states of the country, Since our stage is one of the most biodiversity rich states, It is the more all the important to use this resources available with least impact on the environment. Of the state's total area of 1,92,000 square kilometers of green stone belts are known to contain vast mineral deposits of gold,silver,platinuim,cooper,diamond,iron,manganese,chromite,dolomite,limestone etc. The important minor minerals produced granite,building stone,brick earth and sand which are produced in most of the district across the state.
