Low cost housing model township in Bankapura, Karnataka: Rural India fast turning urban. Note the huge cement water tank to provide for the township and low cost housing model infrastructure, as seen aerially, in this aerial view, from the air. Clearly, a large patch of Ghats forest with red lateritic soil has been cleared to create this township, so forest cover has been compromised for human needs, in a clearcut blatant encroaching fashion. Note the neat straight rows of houses with a single water tank atop each house. Each house has access to a roof-top terrace, and a deep furrow of sewerage and rain water runoff rungs along each street which also has electric poles in large numbers, with a network of electric cables.
