A person chops vegetables at a common kitchen in Sevagram Ashram, Maharashtra. He chops tomatoes and cucumber. There was no kitchen or dining room when the ashram was built. The inmates were cooking at the south-western corner of a room of Adi-Niwas. Since the number of Ashram inmates and visitors increased, Gandhiji had a new separate kitchen built. It is situated to the Southeast of Adi-Niwas. The kitchen is very simple and ordinary. The kitchen-cum-dining has been maintained in good condition.
