Maun Mela, a historic and unique folk festival celebrated in parts of Uttarakhand, India. Villager men walk along steep, rocky mountain trails toward the river to participate in the traditional community fishing event associated with the festival. The route passes through rugged hillsides overlooking the river valley before reaching the water, where large groups of people gather along the banks and in the shallow stream. Participants enter the river to catch fish using traditional methods while spectators watch from surrounding rocks. The footage records an important cultural tradition that brings local communities together during the annual Maun Mela celebration.
