Muzaffarnagar, located in the northern part of Uttar Pradesh is popularly known as “The Sugar Bowl of India”. The economy of the district is mainly based on agriculture; sugarcane, paper and steel industries. Muzaffarnagar is now part of National Capital Region. It is part of Saharanpur division. The city is located in the middle of a highly fertile upper Ganga-Yamuna Doab region and is very near to the New Delhi and Saharanpur, making it one of the most developed and prosperous cities of Uttar Pradesh.
