Alka Tomar, Indian wrestler speaks about Commonwealth Games 2010. She says, "I am from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh and I had been practicing at Chaudhary Charan Singh University in Meerut. I have a family background in wrestling. My father and brothers are wrestlers and when wrestling came in 1999 my father told me to practice for wrestling, I was preparing for athletics that time. My father wanted me to be a sportsperson that's why he chose wrestling for me. I got Silver Medal in my first national game and I was disappointed with that then my father encouraged me. My family supports me a lot and my coach Mr. Jabar Singh Som and Sushil Rajput is bearing my expenses."
