Tearing into the flesh of prey is associated with canines and big cats but we are not very familiar with Snow Leopards putting their teeth into snow. These Snow Leopards filmed in the high altitude mountainous region of Spiti is seen biting into the snow and licking it. Looks like this is the spring popsicle of these rarely seen mountain cats. Is this their source of hydration in this cold and unforgiving terrain? The Ounce likes snow so much that when there is a choice between snow and rock, they opt to move over to the snowy patch, probably because they are feeling hot in the warm winter sun, given their thick fur hides!
