A salt worker uses an outdated equipment with precision. Salt crystallization in progress by collecting crystallized salt embedded on the top layer of a sea water reservoir in the Little Rann of Kutch. Saltpans or sea water reservoir are a man made hyper saline ecosystem from which crude salt is extracted during summer. This is carried out before the salt crystals reach the bottom layer of the reservoir. Natural crystallization of salt is generally done by agents of evaporation. Crystallization of salt normally takes place in arid climates, as strong heat causes fast evaporation of water.
