Women and children sell Indian flags (made in China!) at traffic crossings in New Delhi, around the time of Independence Day on 15th August each year. They haw the flags with and without poles, to car owners who pause at the lights, for as little as Rs. 100 to 250 per flag. Does patriotism drive the buyers and sellers, or is it just desperation for a quick buck of earning for the sellers, and just a novelty for the buyers?
