Yoga in the Himalaya! Uttarakhand is the 27th state of the Republic of India located in Northern part of India and separated out of the state of Uttar Pradesh, in November 2000. It was formerly known as Uttaranchal until January 01, 2007. Uttarakhand is marked by its spiritual and favorable places of pilgrimage, its natural beauty, steep hilly mountains, and wealth of the Himalayas, the Bhabhar and the Terai. It also shares an international border with Nepal and China.
