The much-awaited Maha Kumbh Mela in Haridwar on the banks of the Ganges is here even when the whole world is reeling under the global pandemic. Thousands of Hindu devotees are headed to the banks of the Ganges as the moon rises and flags flutter in the foreground. Priests and devotees are seen on the banks of the river with offerings of lit lamps and small earthen lamps which are released on the waters of the Holy River. Devotees are also seen standing or taking a holy dip in the Ganges while celebrating the biggest Hindu Festival. The Maha Kumbh Mela in Haridwar is celebrated every 12 years and is the most auspicious festival for the Hindus in North India.
