A full-bodied hide along with hair of a Tibetan yak (Bos grunniens) is spread on the floor of a home. Yaks are an important part of everyday life in Tibet. The milk and meat are consumed in the Himalayan region for its taste and nutrition. The hides and fur of the animals are used to make clothing to be worn in the cold months.
