Delhi’s civic administration is letting off trucks cheaply, while the pollution caused by them is costing its residents dearly. A study by a Delhi-based think-tank - the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) - proves that nearly 1,15,945 commercial light and heavy trucks use Delhi as a transit point daily, lacing its air with dangerous toxins. This is while our municipalities sleep over their toll differential with the National Highways Authority of India and encourage truck drivers to use Delhi’s roads.
