Driving from Katwaria Sarai to the Adhchini tiraha is a nightmare in the rains... Chocolate milk shake spills over onto the roads, as a pump drains out water rather ineffectively from the road itself. Cars plough through deep water as they approach Adchini from the Ring Road intersection near IIT Gate. Water pumps have been set up impromptu alongside the road to pump out water from the road. Imagine - this is New Delhi, a world-class city, supposedly! The Public Works Department tries each year to dredge the drains by illegally sending in personnel to undertake a dangerous and demeaning job. They do not improve the drainage systems themselves.
