Pitbulls make up only 6% of the dog population, but they're responsible for 68% of dog attacks and 52% of dog-related deaths. Breeders sell them as ferocious security dogs and a whole illicit trade in pitbull dog pups has emerged in north India. The owner of this dog told us about his activities and he also told us that he bought Rancho the pit bull some 5 years ago with the purpose of guarding his farmhouse in Pavli Khas, Meerut. Now the pit bull has become very dangerous. When he finds snakes in the farmhouse, he simply grabs them and eats them up. Poor snakes. Not good for the snake population.
