A basic but rarely seen activity of farming in Indian rural areas is storing hay after the harvest for feeding cattle and also own-stream making cow dung patties. A farmer with a donkey cart is seen on top of a pile of hay after paddy and wheat harvest season in Punjab. Piles of hay lay next to the field. This will be used to feed cattle in the dry season and for aiding in making cow dung patties for fuel.
