A major fire broke out on Saturday in a firecrackers market in Aurangabad, gutting more than 200 shops and 40 vehicles parked nearby, but no casualty was reported, police officials said. The blaze started at around 11.45 am in the market set up on the occasion of Diwali at Zilla Parishad Ground under Krantipura Police Station in this Central Maharashtra city. Over 200 firecracker stalls went up in flames, while 40 vehicles parked in and around the ground were also gutted, IANS reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
