Ganpati Visarjan has been gaining tremendous popularity in Delhi over the years. One can see hundreds of devotees thronging all the roads leading to the banks of river Yamuna. Like always, Delhi people have embraced the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which is basically a major and community festival of Maharashtra. Decorative pandals with Lord Ganesh’s idol are set up come up in public places and community centres that serve as makeshift shrines. People worship the Lord all these days until the final ritual of Ganesh Visarjan. People from every social group, caste and State enthusiastically take part in the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
