Cattle Egrets develop a rich- yellow-orange head colour when it breeding mode. Here, a huge colony of nesting egrets has colonized a bamboo thicket. When a Little Egret in breeding plumage (with its brilliant white plumes all erect) visits, it is duly chased away by en egret. This breeding colony was filmed in Pokhara, Nepal.
