While walking down the stairs of the five-storeyed stepwell one would come across many visitors of the baoli but with every storey that one reaches, a new pattern and design in the architecture can be encountered. With a fusion of Hindu craftsmanship and the geometric pattern of Islamic architecture, Adalaj vav is the finest example of Indo - Islamic architecture. Perhaps the finest stepwell in Gujarat, Adalaj was built in 1555. What makes this stepwell the most beautiful amongst other is its series of platforms and galleries built on the side of the stepwell.
