The entrance to the Darchik Cultural Centre in Darchik village opens onto the annual Apricot Blossom Festival in the Aryan Valley of Kargil district, Ladakh. Villagers and visitors gather for traditional folk performances, music, and cultural celebrations surrounded by blooming apricot trees. Members of the Brokpa, also known as Dha-Hanu Aryan or Dard communities, appear in traditional ceremonial clothing, including an elderly man wearing an elaborate floral headdress and a woman in traditional attire. Traditional musicians accompany the performances as the festival brings together local cultural traditions and visitors from outside the region.
