Locust swarms have been invading India these past few weeks. The grasshoppers attack, raid and destroy entire farmlands and orchards within hours, moving on from there when their appetites have been satisfied. They are the scourge of Indian agriculture, and come to breed here during the monsoons, coming in from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, among other places.
