Vineeta Devi who is being re-married sits in the courtyard of the Gopinath temple surrounded by other widows and Mr. Bindeshwar Pathak, Founder of Sulabh International presents the wedding dress and jewellery to Vineeta during her Mehendi ceremony. A 23 year old widow Vineeta Devi lost her husband in 2013 Kedarnath tragedy and Sulabh International organised her Re-marriage ceremony in 400 years old Gopinath temple in Vrindavan with Rakesh. According to Sulabh International, her marriage is a message to the society who believes a woman’s life ends if she becomes a widow. In 2014, she married Rakesh, a taxi driver in court, but did not get social acceptance. Hence, to get social acceptance to her marriage, she decided to marry him with full rituals.
