Shovana Narayan says "To answer you first question regarding Abida Parveen's adaptation to Kabir's verses is flawless. Kabir's verses are extremely deep in nature and it has been very special for me since forever. I have performed to Kabir's verses quite often and when a powerful voice like Abida Parveen's gets combined with such beautiful literature, its just another world that you get transformed to all together. I absolutely loved performing to it." Among the contemporary Kathak dancers, Shovana Narayan stands out for two major reasons – her ability to effectively perform two distinctive roles with ease and her capability to produce and direct international collaborative works.
