Puppetry is a form of theatre or performance which involves the manipulation of puppets. It is very ancient, and is believed to have originated 30,000 years BC. Puppetry is used in almost all human societies both as an entertainment -- in performance -- and ceremonially in rituals and celebrations such as carnivals. This clip shows a puppet show in Pushkar, Rajasthan. Pushkar is a town in the Ajmer district in the state of Rajasthan, India. Pushkar is one of the oldest cities of India. It lies on the shore of Pushkar Lake. Pushkar has many temples. The most famous among all is the Brahma Temple built during the 14th century AD. In olden times the people who took a holy dip at Pushkar were relieved from all the sins and went to heaven after their death by the grace of Lord Brahma. This foot
