Indian achieved its independence within years of dramatic international developments. On the 6th of August 1945, the Americans dropped an Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima and then two days later on Nagasaki. The mushroom cloud cast its dark shadows with a contemporary history. The world soon witnessed to the madness of a spiraling nuclear race. Second World War may have ended but the early 50s also saw the beginning of the Cold War.
