An exciting mango-eating competition is taking place during the 11th Mango Festival, organized by Delhi Tourism in New Delhi in July 1999. A row of male participants can be seen leaning over a long table and eating mangoes as quickly as possible, while event officials and spectators watch the competition. Small buckets are placed in front of the contestants for discarded mango skins and seeds. The festival also features a colourful display of numerous mango varieties, showcasing the diversity of mango cultivation and flavours. Varieties visible at the event include Chausa, Dussehri, Lakhnavi, Nabi Gola, Gola Saha, Saam, Roma Maliha, Bright of Rush, Awadh Wala and Manuhari. The event offers a glimpse into Delhi's earlier mango festivals and the cultural popularity of India's beloved summer
