Workers from Bihar state use make-shift wheel-barrows to move bricks from the kiln to the stock-pile, after they have been baked, cooled and readied for sale. They are piled up high, waiting for trucks to come and purchase them and carry them away to construction sites, having been purchased by contractors and 'thekedars' for the real estate developments of Uttar Pradesh state, India. Poorly paid labourers work in inhuman conditions, in the heat of dust of an Indian summer, to manufacture these bricks, working within kilns where the temperatures rise to close to 80 degrees Celcius just outside them....
