One of the most noticeable and iconic monuments in India - the Red Fort or Lal Qila - was built in Mughal architectural style during the rule of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Till now on the celebration of Independence Day, the Prime Minister hoists the National Flag at the entrance of the complex. The complex is also a major tourist attraction, both national and foreign. A walk inside the pillared arches inside one of the structures of the Red Fort with intricate designs. The arches and pillars are decorated with patterns, floral art covers the marble structures.
