Mehbooba Mufti says "The mainstream parties in Jammu and Kashmir have to figure out that if we are to contest elections then under what rules are we supposed to contest elections in India. Laws of India are applied to Jammu and Kashmir under section 370." Omar Abdullah says "Till a few years back Mr Amit Shah also had no idea about section 35(A). In fact, people here did not know much about it until I asked Mehbooba Mufti in the assembly about her plans to succumb or take care of this in the Supreme Court."
