In a tragic incident, seven persons lost their lives in a landslide at Kothi Bungalow area near Sahastradhara, in Dehradun. With this, 24 persons have been killed in rain-related incidents in Uttarakhand in the past two days. Earlier 17 people had lost their lives after a cloudburst hit six villages in Pauri. The road network in the hill state has been hit hard due to heavy rainfall as 113 roads remained blocked owing to landslide. Even traffic movement on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway remained affected as about 30 metres of the road was washed away near Devprayag.
