Traffic moves smoothly on the roads of Gurgaon city as a temporarily extended sweet shop selling variety of sweets on Diwali Eve. Traffic jams take the joy out of shopping for Diwali as people spent a considerable time on the roads. Traffic police said that commuters remained stuck in snarls in many parts of the city due to 50% increase in traffic volume. Though, like every year, police have diversions in place, nothing seems to have reduced the woes of commuters and the weekend is expected to be just as bad. To help ease the situation, traffic policemen can be seen at most places trying to help guide vehicles.
