Panning over a snow covered Tawang town after heavy overnight snowfall at the beginning of January. Snow covered houses, fields and Tawang Monastery itself, make for a sight to behold. At 3048 metres above sea level, Tawang is the place where the world's second largest Buddhist monastery outside of Lhasa in Tibet is located. Tawang is a small town located in a corner of Arunachal Pradesh, close to the the Indo- Chinese and Indo- Tibetan borders and is also the headquarter of the Tawang district.
