Jeweller says "Actually the scenario is that some customers bring in old gold and some people prefer making cash. So when we are given old gold we melt it and wash the gold. Only clear gold is kept and we ensure we bring it to a pure state before we mix as per 22 carats or 23 carats. Once it is melted we remove the wires and dyes before designing it into fresh jewellery."
