The busy market atmosphere around Hanuman Circle in Jaisalmer is popularly known as the “Golden City” for its distinctive yellow sandstone architecture. A curved multi-story sandstone building with arched windows, carved facades, and traditional chhatris dominates the streetscape. Street vendors operate beneath umbrellas and temporary awnings displaying colourful handicrafts, textiles, and Rajasthani souvenirs. Local shops, including visible storefronts like “Shivgouri,” add to the commercial activity of the junction. Cars, motorcycles, and pedestrians move continuously through the area, reflecting the lively urban rhythm of the historic desert city.
