While we were in Ghandruk we were made to taste the beautiful cuisine of the Gurung tribe. Their hospitality was evident in the smallest of gestures by the J.B. Gurung or Black Tea as known locally and his family. Here Black Tea's grandson can be seen playing with the fish being cut for dinner. The fish being prepared here is locally called Magoor which is similar to Catfish. The fish chunks are then washed and kept aside. The lady who ran the homestay was an amazing cook and I referred to her as didi (sister). She can be seen preparing a chilli sauce for the curry and marinade. She then cleans the fish properly and once she cleans it she washes the fish before she gets to the marinade.
