Saghar Khayyami is one of the most popular humorist poets of Urdu. Passed away in Mumbai on June 18, 2008 at the age of 70 and laid to rest in his hometown Lucknow. His name was Rashidul Hasan Naqvi,. His presence ensured the success of any mushaira. Rashidul Hasan Naqvi, was born at Rampur on 7th June, 1938. He has imbibed from his environment the peculiar refinement of Lucknavi culture, and a taste for fine arts and poetry. He belongs to a family that was deeply religious and yet endowed and with a fine literary sensibility. His father Shaair Lucknavi and grand father Zakhir Lucknowi, wers a poets of considerable merit, and his eldest brother, Mehdi Nazmi, was a talented and a prolific writer of prose and poetry.
