Another instance of violence against women by the Uttar Pradesh police has surfaced. A policewoman in Aligarh was caught on camera thrashing a middle-aged woman. The woman had gone to the police station to question why her nine-year-old son was kept in the police station for three days on complaint of theft. The mother was not given any information on her son's arrest and alleged that the police was not listening to her. "My child is lying in the jail. We pleaded the police to release him but they are not listening to us. My child is in a poor condition. They are having no mercy on my child," the woman said. Some residents of a Lucknow village handed over six minors, including the woman's on, to the police. The residents say the minors were caught stealing in the area. Source : news18.com
