Assam represents world famous mask culture of Majuli in the 69th Republic Day Parade. Tableau is based on the traditional mask used in religious dances and drama in Satras (Vaishnava monasteries) and Namghars (Prayer halls). Punjab tableau to showcase 'sangat' and 'pangat' on Republic Day. The tableau would also exhibit the way in which the free community kitchen called 'langar' is prepared wholly through the voluntary efforts of the people. Tableaux from 14 States and UT, Nine Central Ministries, Departments and Central Paramilitary Force will present the varied historical, art and cultural heritage of the country.
