City of Joy as dubbed by Dominic Lapierre Calcutta was the capital city of the British empire in India until it shifted to New Delhi. Kolkata as it is called today is a slow-moving city with remnants of its past glory still evident in the buildings and the many monuments. Filmed in the 1990s are some of these iconic structures that are still standing today. The Chartered Bank building, housing corporate buildings, the clock on the General Post Office Building, the British Insurance Company Building and the clock tower spire at Raj Bhavan.
