Black Kites (Milvus migrans) soaring over a dumping site outside a town in Uttar Pradesh. Some of the birds glide in thermals over the huge mound of garbage. Black Kites have adapted well to co-existing with human settlements as they can survive on smaller prey in human settlement areas and consume both live and dead carrion.
