The Indian Navy has ordered a probe into a shooting incident off Bombay High in which a fisherman received injuries, officials said here. Officials said a fishing boat, “Christabel”, with 20 fishermen from Uttan village here on a fishing expedition strayed too close an oil rig belonging to the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Sunday night. Naval personnel on board an Immediate Support Vessel fired warning shots at the fishing boat. However a bullet hit a fisherman, Sushant Agnel Luiz, 32 on his shoulder. Officials said doctors on board the oil rig found his condition serious and Luiz was lifted by helicopter to the Nanavati Hospital in the suburbs.
