The use of diclofenac has now been banned in India. This drug was extensively used in veterinary practice and animal husbandry across India, but the drug moved from bovines to vultures who were consuming their leftover meat, and the vulture population started declining as their eggs became too brittle to breed successfully. 99% of India's plains vultures disappeared. But now with the drug banned, the Vultures - nature's cleaners - are slowly making their way back. This bovine vet is at work inoculating a cow in the outskirts of New Delhi city, to prevent tuberculosis and other cow-bovine ills.
