On the day of Holi on 20th March 2002. Chittisinghpura, a small town in Jammu and Kashmir where most of the population is of Sikhs. At 6 o'clock in the evening, some people were talking and some were preparing dinner at their homes. Some people dressed in the uniform of security forces were coming towards this village from the nearby forest. Then there was a knock at the door. Asking the men to come out of their homes to stand in a line. But it was not the Indian army they were the panic makers. Jatinder Singh says "It was holi that evening, some people were in their homes, some in Gurudwara and some just taking a stroll. This was around 7:40 PM when they asked everyone to come out for some work. The ones they didn't ask to come out they came out still thinking that our army is asking for
