Sree Vinayak temple in Sarojini Nagar in New Delhi. Hindu devotees buy flowers and other offerings to god from the shops outside the temple. A shopkeeper showers water on the flowers to keep them fresh. Devotees offer their prayers at Sree Vinayak temple while the priest chants Mantras and ring the holy bell. The South Indian Community of Delhi as far back as 1950 felt the necessity to have a temple in the National Capital for the benefit of resident devotees of New Delhi to have a place to do Poojas, rituals and rites in their traditional manner.
