Bijri tomb is a massive structure constructed of rubble masonry during the Lodhi period - 15th Century. The dome springs from a sixteen sided drum and is crowned with a red sand stone and marble pinnacle. Surrounded by slums and piles of rubble, the tomb in Sector 3 of R K Puram in New Delhi is crowned by a red sandstone and marble pinnacle. Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) has graded the monument of archaeological value 'A'. Though Bijri Khan was probably a noble of the Lodhi period, conservation architects say that the building is of more archaeological value than historical.
