A somewhat rarer species of Primula, it is found in the eastern portion of our range, starting in Garhwal and Kumaon and stretching right across Nepal. An inhabitant of higher alpine slopes, it peeps out during the early days of snow-melt at greater altitudes. A slightly-built plant, its lavendar-coloured flowers are usually the first sign of activity, with the leaves growing out shortly after the blossoms.
