Not be confused with the other stadiums named after Jawaharlal Nehru, this one is home to the Delhi Dynamos F.C. With a capacity of 60,000 for sporting events and slightly over 100,000 for concerts, Jawaharlal Nehru is the fourth largest stadium in India. Multi-purpose by design, the pitch is oval shaped in order to accommodate the three most popular sports in India: Cricket, Athletics and Football. Constructed to host the 9th edition of the Asian Games, the stadium first opened in 1982 with an initial capacity of 78,000 but has since been reduced in line with modern health and safety regulations.
