Suman Dubey says "I was the editor of Indian Express for most of 1996 and the early part of 1997 when I began to have, that was a period when Bofors broke out and lots of problems were happening for the Rajiv Gandhi Government. I had differences with Ramnath Goenka, the owner of the Indian Express, which to cut a long story short eventually led to my leaving the newspaper and after I left the newspaper I really had this question of what to do because there weren't that many jobs going for editors.
